Research Themes

1. Urban Landscape Mapping
Explores new methodologies for understanding urban landscapes in multicultural contexts by combining spatial analysis, public perception, and digital technologies. This theme investigates urban patterns, emotions, uses of space, and mapping tools capable of capturing the complexity of contemporary cities.

2. Intergroup Perception & Interactions
Examines social relations, perceptions, and interaction dynamics between different groups in public space. Using behavioural observation, computer vision, artificial intelligence, and visual simulations, it analyses coexistence, segregation, conflict, and co-presence within diverse urban environments.
3. Collaborative Spaces
Focuses on the co-production of knowledge between researchers, institutions, and communities. The aim is to involve stakeholders throughout the research process, translate findings into practical guidelines for public space planning, design, and management, and foster more inclusive and participatory urban approaches.
