Objectives
- Develop innovative methodologies combining digital tools, mapping, behavioural analysis and participatory approaches.
- Investigate relationships between social diversity, urban form and everyday spatial practices.
- Generate practical frameworks and guidelines for inclusive urban planning and decision-making.
Approaches
The research adopts an interdisciplinary and multi-scalar approach, combining urban studies, landscape research, environmental psychology, computer vision and digital mapping.
The work is developed across three interconnected scales:
- City scale — urban patterns, landscape structure and demographic complexity.
- Neighbourhood scale — social dynamics, intergroup relations and everyday urban experience.
- Site scale — behavioural observation, visual analysis and participatory investigation of public space.
The methodology integrates spatial mapping, behavioural analysis, digital technologies and collaborative practices, involving institutions, stakeholders and communities throughout the research process.
